This interactive session is designed for coders and will focus on techniques for auditing clinical documentation to justify appropriate assignment of E/M codes and review for ICD-10 CM code specificity.  Auditing to report patient risk through co-morbidities will also be included in the class.

Objectives include:

• Assisting with the implementation of your own internal audit program
• Providing exercises for hands on auditing experience
• Providing an understanding of documentation needed to support each level of service
• Guiding you with effective feedback to your physician and staff

Be sure to bring your current CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM manuals with you as well as a highlighter and sticky notes.  Feel free to also to send your questions or problems to Janet Beasy to be forwarded to Karen Scott before class.
