Clinical Inertia in the Treatment of Diabetes Presented by Matt Strum, Pharm D
Clinical Inertia in the Treatment of Diabetes
Presented by Matt Strum, Pharm D
Clinical inertia, in patients with type 2 diabetes, is defined as the delay in treatment initiation or intensification, despite suboptimal diabetes control. Tight glycemic control, particularly from onset and diagnosis, leads to significant reductions in microvascular and macrovascular complications.
Dr. Matt Strum, a Pharm D with NovoNordisk, will discuss and compare current ADA and AACE guidelines to review recommendations for increasing therapy and using insulin when appropriate.
