Sepsis: Coding and Documentation Improvement evening session

Presented by: Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA

Coding for sepsis can sometimes be as complicated as the condition itself. Specific coding rules will be discussed along with case examples to review necessary documentation and proper ICD-10-CM coding focused specifically around sepsis.

This training should allow for more accurate and precise reporting to provide opportunity for increased revenue by triggering the appropriate DRG for the hospital as well as setting more realistic cost expectations for shared savings contracts and MIPS reporting.
