Anatomy and Terminology Day 

 Presented by: Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA

Prepare for coding certification or refresh your coding knowledge each week in January 

Topics covered over three Fridays in January include fundamental coding guidelines, anatomy and medical terminology, ICD-10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS-Level II, modifiers, HCC and E/M coding and documentation. Exercises and review will be held during class and on the last day, Wednesday, February 2.

NEW: Each day session is by individual registration to allow attendance of specific classes as needed. We will give CEUs this year for the first three sessions. No CEUs will be given for the last day of review/ test-taking skills. 

The three days in January will be 9:00-4:00 with appropriate breaks as determined by Karen. February 2 will be a shortened session

The four-session class meets weekly to allow study time between sessions and includes additional homework assignments. 

Time:

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.     Six hours CEUs available
9:00-10:15 Basic Anatomy and Terminology Review of rules for breaking down words into parts for understanding with interspersed topical questions. Use of Anatomy illustrations and related terms
10:15-10:30     break
10:30- 12:00 continue with basic anatomy and terminology
12:00-1:00  Lunch break
1:00-2:15    Advanced Anatomy and Terminology deeper review organized around body systems
2:15- 2:30       break
2:30-4:00  Continued review with extensive worksheets and practice quiz questions for in-class and homework
