Dissecting & Coding Op Notes 2022

Presented by: Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA

The operative report is a blueprint to communicate the specific details of a procedure. It relates to coders the pieces of the procedure such as approach, device, body area/part, final diagnosis, and more.  Understanding how to dissect the report in order to find the details necessary in selecting the correct codes is essential.  Join this class to review the process aiding in:

  • Ensuring coding accuracy
  • Relating risk factors through patient co-morbidities
