Karen will present practice sessions using NEW cases for the 2023 changes to help develop your skills in setting an E&M level based on medical decision making.
 

Due to the brief time scheduled for these sessions, please try to log in on time. We will start promptly.
 
Attention will be given to:

  • Definitions and details of level determining elements of problems, data, and risk
  • Brief summary of major changes to time-based code selection
  • Coding exercises from chart documentation

Coding Boot Camp 2023 ICD 10 Day Presented by: Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA 

-History of Diagnostic Coding/Instructions for Manual Use
-Official coding Guidelines
-Layout of manual sections/tables Practice looking up diagnoses
-Special attention to rules around maternal/fetal/neonate coding
-Necessity and proper use of Z codes

Time:

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.     Six hours CEUs available

Topics covered over three days in JAnuary include fundamental coding guidelines, anatomy and medical terminology, ICD-10 CM, CPT-4, HCPCS-Level II, modifiers, HCC and E/M coding and documentation. Exercises and review will be held during class and on the last day, Friday, February 4

NEW: Each day session is by individual registration to allow attendance of specific classes as needed. We will give CEUs for the first three sessions. No CEUs will be given for the last day of review/ test-taking skills, which is a shortened. 

The four-session class meets weekly to allow study time between sessions and includes additional homework assignments.
