CODING CONDITIONS OF THE EYE IN 2025

This class will review coding processes, rules, and regulations related to conditions of the eye, along with chapter specific terminology with anatomy of body systems and will include coding conventions with special attention to sequencing guidelines and rules. Frequently used diagnoses for disorders, diseases, and conditions of Ophthalmology will be reviewed. Practice coding exercises will be an important section of the class and will assist in reinforcing the material covered.   Please have your CPT4 and ICD-10-CM manual for participation in the exercises.

Proper use of modifiers and correct place of service all affect reimbursement for services. Understanding how and when to use modifiers is imperative to relate this additional information not included in procedure codes. Place of service codes will also be discussed with some attention to recent telehealth changes.
