Chart Auditing for Coding and Documentation in 2026 Presented by: Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA This interactive session is designed for coders and will focus on techniques for auditing clinical documentation to justify appropriate assignment of ICD-10 CM codes with attention to those that trigger HCC for risk. We will also review proper documentation for E/M. Objectives include: • Assisting with the implementation of your own internal audit program • Providing exercises for hands on auditing experience • Guiding you with effective feedback to your physician and staff Be sure to bring your current CPT-4 and ICD-10 CM manuals with you as well as a highlighter and sticky notes. Reviewing Compliance Plans 2026 Presented by:Karen Scott, MEd, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, FAHIMA With audits increasing it is time to review and address coding compliance issues. Nothing is more important than the required Practice Compliance Plan to deter fraud, waste, and abuse in Federal programs. This session will review the components of the OIG Compliance format as well as cover the process of the development of a practice plan. The topics to be included: Seven Basic Elements Reviewing Practice Compliance Areas of risk • Importance of a written compliance manual • Fraud and Abuse definitions with examples • Training requirements for staff • Writing practice policies and procedures Date: Friday, June 12 Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Location: Online only.
