Reporting Frailty and Advanced Illness and Quality Measure Exclusions
Laurie King, RN, HealthChoice

HEDIS® measures, used to drive improvement efforts surrounding best practices, are often of no benefit or even a detriment to the quality of life for older adults with limited life expectancy or disabilities that interfere with measure compliance.

Hospice patients are automatically excluded, but other frail patients with advanced illness can only be excluded at this time by coding and billing specific diagnostic codes within specified parameters.

Laurie King, RN, HealthChoice will present a lunchtime webinar on Documenting Frailty and Advanced Illnessto explain the background, process, and value behind documenting and reporting these diagnoses.
